CPEP Seminar – Leveraging a Public School District and Schoolyard Spaces to Confront Climate Health Inequities in a Low-Income, Urban Community of Color

Speaker: Kirsten Beyer, Professor of Epidemiology and Social Sciences, Medical College of Wisconsin

Dr. Beyer will share her work on greenspace and public health with a focus on current EPA funded work in partnership with Reflo and Milwaukee Public Schools to:

  • Examine the impact of schoolyard greening on students and the environment
  • Develop and implement a climate health equity curriculum for teachers to prepare them to teach a climate justice curriculum for K-12 students
